Wilkins Township – 2014 Banner Community – A
Repeat Performance!
The Allegheny League of Municipalities and Allegheny County Executive
Rich Fitzgerald recently announced that Wilkins Township has
been designated as a Banner Community for the second year in
a row. Banner Communities are those Allegheny County communities
that implement best practices in all aspects of their operations
and that govern in an inclusive, collaborative manner.

2013 BANNER COMMUNITY
Wilkins Township was recognized by the Allegheny League of Cities
and Municipalities as a Banner Community in 2013. Banner Communities
are those that meet the following criteria: provide education
and training to newly elected officials and ongoing training
to elected officials; are active members of the Allegheny League
of Municipalities and County Associations; are active members
of a Council of Government and participate in at least one shared
service; conduct an annual activity that promotes local government
and conduct a citizen communication program. For more information
